How to choose

What actually matters when deciding

Cheapest isn't always best, and most prestigious isn't always necessary. Here's how we help students weigh it up honestly.

๐Ÿ’ถ

Total cost, not headline fee

Look at tuition + living over six years, not just year-one tuition. A cheaper-tuition country with higher living costs can end up similar - our calculators on each country page show the all-in picture.

๐Ÿ“Š

Entry route vs your profile

If your marks are strong, a competitive entrance-exam country (Hungary, Czech, Bulgaria) is very achievable. If you'd rather avoid an exam, Romania leans merit-based; Latvia/Lithuania need IELTS.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

NMC compliance - always

Whatever you choose, the university and programme must satisfy India's NMC FMGL rules. We verify this in writing for every shortlist - it's non-negotiable, and we never recommend a non-compliant seat.

Common questions

Comparing MBBS in Europe - FAQs

Romania and Bulgaria have the lowest tuition (from around โ‚ฌ5,000-โ‚ฌ10,000/year), and Bulgaria also has among the lowest living costs in the EU. Hungary and the Czech Republic sit at the premium end. Always compare the six-year total including living costs, not just year-one tuition.

Romania is mostly merit-based on Class 12 marks. Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia run a Biology/Chemistry entrance exam; Latvia and Lithuania typically require IELTS plus an entrance test. We tell you exactly what applies to each university.

Yes. Regardless of a country's own admission method, under India's NMC FMGL 2021 rules you must qualify NEET before enrolling abroad to remain eligible to practise medicine in India later - so we treat it as essential everywhere.

Yes, when the university is NMC-recognised. As with any foreign medical graduate, you must clear the FMGE/NExT screening exam and complete the required internship (CRMI) to register with the NMC and practise. We verify NMC compliance in writing before you commit.

We focus exclusively on EU & Schengen destinations because they offer genuine European degrees, strong regulatory standards, and visa-free travel across the bloc. We deliberately don't list non-EU options that don't meet that bar.
